Our Story
A long time ago, in a place not so far away...
A long time ago, real estate was the farthest thing from my mind, I was a few years out of college and didn’t know much about the world, even less about real estate, but I knew I could do better than my tiny English basement rental. I had done pretty well with my corporate insurance career, had some savings and at the encouragement of friends and family not to throw money out the door by renting, I considered buying a small condo and that is when my adventure in real estate began.
Very quickly I learned that you need a real estate agent to buy property whether you like it or not, so I called a few big name brokers and set up several appointments. I remember the first one clearly, I waited in the lobby of a condo building for 30 minutes while the agent fumbled around trying to find the key so we could access the unit and after finding a key, it didn’t work. It was safe to say that was the end of that agent. The second one wasn’t much better, we managed to get into the unit this time and after the agent pointed out where the kitchen and bathrooms were (as if I couldn’t figure that out myself) the answer to each additional question was that he would have to get back to me, but after 2 weeks, I never did hear from him again, even after following up a couple times.
At this rate I figured if I was ever going to have a home of my own, I would have to become an agent, and after months of studying, I did. Soon after, I purchased my first property and then went on to help most of my friends purchase their first home as well. Even with all those transactions under my belt, I was still a rookie, but one thing that set me apart is that I took an genuine interest in each of my clients and was wholeheartedly concerned about their success. I started falling in love with the business, and it showed. After years in the business, after meeting thousands of people, taking chances, experimenting with marketing, realizing both success and failure, I finally considered myself an expert in the field and was ready for the next step.
I always believed in putting my client’s interest first, sure it might cost me in the short term but I knew it would pay dividends in the long term, so when I realized my broker’s philosophy toward client service differed from my own, I decided it was time to start my own brokerage. Ever since then, our business has been chugging along steadily, with business increasing each year, even in the tough market. People get excited knowing they have someone out there they can trust and as a natural result, our clients kept asking us if we offer additional services such as title, mortgage, insurance and management.
As part of our natural evolution, we created an insurance agency offering some of the best rates on Auto, Homeowners and Commercial policies as well as an award winning property management division. We realize we can’t do everything so we choose to partner with some of the best mortgage and title professionals in the business to provide the best real estate purchase experience humanly possible. Our promise to you is that no matter how much we grow, we will never abandon the principles that got us to where we are today.
